Online water-quality analysis using the UV500, UV400, UV300 and EL300 product families. The source brochure reports more than 800 installations worldwide in 2015 and configurations covering 1–16 parameters. These are historical source statements, not current deployment totals.

  4. Industrial wastewater: food and beverage, pulp and wood, chemicals, petrochemicals, power and metals

Measurement portfolio

The source application matrix lists UV254/COD, ammonia (NH4), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), nitrate (NO3), hydrogen sulphide (H2S), colour, chlorophyll-a, phosphate (PO4), nitrite (NO2), chlorine (Cl2), aluminium, iron, silica, hexavalent chromium, turbidity, pH, ORP, dissolved oxygen, conductivity and temperature. Model/application combinations are shown in the original matrix below.

Environmental and municipal examples

China: COD, ammonia-nitrogen and oil-in-water for emergency environmental monitoring. United States: ammonia-nitrogen at a wastewater-treatment plant. France: nitrate, COD, phosphate, turbidity, dissolved oxygen and conductivity for river monitoring.

Hazardous-area applications

For potentially explosive environments such as refineries, the source describes a UV400 enclosure with an air-purge system. Example measurements are oil-in-water by UV fluorescence, ammonia or sulphides by gas stripping, and COD by UV absorption.

Enclosure temperature and marking

An optional temperature-controlled vortex cooler can maintain suitable enclosure temperature in hot surroundings. The brochure shows an example post-assessment enclosure marking, II 3 G Ex [pz] IIC T3. This is a source example, not a certification claim for every configuration.

Petrochemical examples

The source illustrates oil-in-water monitoring at a fuel-storage facility and a refinery in the Netherlands, with TETHYS Instruments and Vopak branding.
